BULLS E-Core EVO 2 TR 27.5+
▶ DRIVE UNIT
The high-power Shimano Steps E8000 motor delivers a smooth 70Nm of torque capable of taking you to the top of almost anything. There are three assistance modes: Eco, Trail and Boost, with the latter providing 300% assistance. The E8000 system also has a walk assist function to help manage the bike when you’re pushing not riding!
▶ Small is beautiful
The Shimano drive unit’s small form factor enables BULLS designers to incorporate shorter chainstays, this allows E8000 equipped bikes to benefit from the decades of frame geometry development that has gone into manual MTBs. Additionally, the very narrow width of the E8000 allows the retention of manual MTB’s narrow pedal position, resulting in a natural and efficient pedal stroke. Combining these features ensures a perfectly balanced riding position that other manufacturers can only dream of.
▶ Weight the enemy
At 2.8kg, the STEPS drive unit is a full kilo lighter than the Bosch drive system. While the Bosch unit uses a small drive sprocket that’s geared up from the crank (more moving parts = more mechanical losses), the Shimano is direct-drive, enabling use of 34T or 38T chainrings. The image shows rearward location of the hollowtech shaft and short chainstays.
▶ Tune and Update with Bluetooth
Using the Shimano E-tube app on your pc, tablet or smartphone, you can adjust the preset power modes on your E8000 powerd e-bike to create personalized assistance levels on the fly with Bluetooth connection. No cables needed!
The Bulls has been designed with twin 375Wh batteries hidden in the down tube giving a total capacity of 750Wh. You can run with 1 to reduce weight on short runs, or fit a second if you’re planning longer trials. The Bulls comes with one battery so please let us know if you’d like us to supply a second (price TBA). The batteries, produced by Germany’s BMZ, are locked into the frame with a key and can be charged on or off the bike.
Shimano’s Deore 10 speed range has always been a practical, no-nonsense, well-performing component set that works well in all but the most arduous situations. Slightly heavier than XT/XTR and a little less precise but it’s a great option for those not wishing to splash out on XTR or XT gear sets.
▶ Rock Shox + LYTRO
The 120mm Rock Shox gas unit allows full adjustment of bounce/rebound damping, BULLS LYTRO 120mm gas forks perform well over rough trails and come complete with remote handlebar lock-out.
▸Air spring pressure
▶ Magura MT5 front, and MT 4 rear
Huge braking performance and low weight doesn’t have to be expensive! The braking power of 4 pistons, adapted from Magura’s motor sport experience, gives you all the fine control and maximum stability you will ever need, even on the most difficult terrain, and on long descents.
This electric mountain bike has an inductive transfer Monkey Link system built-in! Monkey Link makes it possible to fit a range of accessories such as bicycle lights and mudguards with built in lights to the bike with no additional electrical connections – accessories such as front and rear lights are powered from the electric bike’s main battery via electromagnetic Inductive transfer.
